George Strait Breaks Concert Attendance Record at Texas A&M University

by Barbara

The “King of Country” music, George Strait, has added another achievement to his illustrious career. Over the weekend, Strait performed at Texas A&M University’s Kyle Field, drawing an unprecedented 110,905 fans to his “The King at Kyle Field” concert, setting a new record for the highest attendance at a ticketed concert.

Strait, joined by Parker McCollum and Catie Offerman, captivated the massive crowd in what was announced as his only Texas performance for 2024. The previous record was held by the Grateful Dead, who performed for 107,019 fans in New Jersey in 1977, according to Billboard. Additionally, Strait’s concert marked the highest attendance ever recorded for an event at Kyle Field.

Addressing the enthusiastic audience, Strait expressed his excitement and a bit of remorse for not visiting Kyle Field sooner. “We got some Aggies out there? Oh yeah! I’m ashamed to say this, but this is my first time to ever be in Kyle Field. … Just invite me back, I’ll come!” he said on Saturday.
