Country music singer Lauren Alaina has been forced to postpone several upcoming concerts following the sudden and unexpected death of her father, J.J. Suddeth.
Announcing the heartbreaking news on Instagram, the 29-year-old star wrote, “We lost my daddy last night, and I really don’t have the words yet.” Alaina expressed her inability to perform at the scheduled shows in Savannah, Virginia Beach, and Charlotte over the coming weekend, stating, “I am going home to be with my family.” She concluded her post with a note of gratitude for the support and prayers, signing off with her father’s nickname for her, “Pinky.”
No further details surrounding Suddeth’s passing were disclosed.
Fellow artists from the country music community shared their condolences in response to Alaina’s announcement. Brantley Gilbert commented, “Prayers to you and the family! Here for anything y’all need,” while Trisha Yearwood wrote, “I love you. So very sorry.”
This tragic news follows Alaina’s recent tribute to her father on Father’s Day, where she affectionately referred to him as “my old man” and expressed her deep love for him.
Alaina, known for hits like “Road Less Traveled” and “Getting Good,” has not indicated when the postponed shows will be rescheduled.
