In a recent revelation that could rival Tom Cruise’s most daring feats, Florence Pugh disclosed her most perilous stunt for the upcoming Marvel film Thunderbolts. The actress shared that she performed a jump from the Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the world’s second-tallest building.
“I think we all like feeling cool doing stunts,” Pugh commented. “This movie is so wonderful and bizarre, and it’s very brave, and it’s because of this cast.”
Directed by Jake Schreier, known for Paper Towns, Thunderbolts features an ensemble cast including Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr (Ghost), Wyatt Russell as John Walker, David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov (Red Guardian), Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov (Taskmaster), and Harrison Ford as General Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross. Pugh reprises her role as Yelena Belova, sister to Black Widow, a character she also portrayed in Marvel’s Disney+ series Hawkeye. Julia Louis-Dreyfus joins the cast as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, with Geraldine Viswanathan playing her assistant Mel. Screenwriters for the film include Eric Pearson, who worked on Black Widow and Thor: Ragnarok, along with Beef screenwriters Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo.
The film, originally scheduled for release on December 20, 2024, has been rescheduled to May 5, 2025, due to delays caused by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.
