Confusion Arises Over ‘Anchor Being’ Concept in “Deadpool & Wolverine”

by Barbara

In Marvel’s latest Deadpool & Wolverine film, a puzzling concept has emerged: the idea of an “anchor being” whose existence allegedly dictates the life or death of an entire universe. This notion, introduced by Mr. Paradox from the TVA in Loki, suggests that each universe has a pivotal anchor being, and if that being dies, the universe itself begins to deteriorate over millennia.

The film posits that Wolverine, from the FoxVerse (Earth-10005), serves as this anchor being. However, this concept raises significant questions. Firstly, it implies that the universe could not have existed before the anchor being was born, which contradicts the understanding that universes have existed far longer than any individual being. Additionally, if the universe’s survival depends on the anchor being’s continued existence, it seems contradictory that universe deaths would be rare occurrences, given the finite lifespans of beings like Wolverine or Asgardian gods.

Without further clarification, this concept risks complicating the MCU’s multiverse further, potentially adding to the list of confusing elements already present in the franchise. Fans are left hoping this idea remains a unique aspect of the Deadpool film rather than a recurring theme in future MCU projects.
