Halle Berry is addressing the critics of Catwoman as the film marks its 20th anniversary.
In a recent appearance on The Tonight Show, Berry, who won an Oscar and a Razzie for her role, expressed her continued enthusiasm for the film despite its poor reviews. Catwoman, released in 2004, was widely criticized and earned Berry the Razzie for Worst Actress of the Year.
“I loved it,” Berry told host Jimmy Fallon. “The movie was panned, and critics said it was awful. But honestly, it wasn’t that bad.”
Berry also shared her satisfaction with how the film has found a new audience online. “What’s great is that kids have discovered it now and really enjoy it. It’s vindicating to hear them say it’s cool and wonder what the fuss was all about. I’m embracing the ‘brat’ trend,” she added, referencing Charli XCX’s popular ‘brat summer’ trend.
