Reality TV personality Ferne McCann is set to make her return to television as a contestant on the forthcoming series of ITV’s Dancing On Ice.
McCann, who gained prominence through ITV’s The Only Way Is Essex and appeared on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! in 2015, is known for her own reality show, First Time Mum. The show, which premiered in 2017, was later rebranded as My Family And Me.
The announcement of McCann’s participation comes a year after she welcomed her daughter, Finty, with fiancé and property developer Lorri Haines. Haines proposed in July 2022. McCann also has an older daughter with her former partner, Arthur Collins, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison in December 2017 for an acid attack at a nightclub. The attack resulted in 16 people sustaining chemical burns, with three individuals temporarily blinded.
McCann has been relatively out of the public eye following a controversy in 2022, when audio of her making derogatory comments about acid attack victims was leaked. She later apologized, stating that her remarks had been “manipulated, edited and taken entirely out of context.”
Sources indicate that McCann’s involvement in Dancing On Ice marks her comeback to television. “It’s been a rough few years for Ferne, but she has always been an ITV star, with her roots on TOWIE and her initial foray into mainstream TV on I’m A Celebrity in 2015,” a source told The Sun.
In addition to McCann’s news, Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern will return to present the January 2025 series of Dancing On Ice. Earlier this year, Willoughby resumed her role alongside Mulhern, who stepped in after Phillip Schofield’s resignation from ITV amid revelations about a relationship with a former This Morning employee. Willoughby and Mulhern previously co-hosted ITV’s Ministry Of Mayhem in 2004.
An ITV spokesperson confirmed that the full line-up for Dancing On Ice 2025 will be announced in the near future.
