Comedy Central has unveiled the first teaser trailer for its upcoming animated revival of the popular sitcom Everybody Hates Chris. The reimagined series, titled Everybody Still Hates Chris, is set to premiere on Wednesday, September 25.
The teaser trailer offers a glimpse into the animated world of the Johnson family, with Chris Rock returning as the narrator. The revival sees Rock reprising his role as the adult Chris, who narrates stories inspired by his childhood experiences growing up in a large working-class family in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, during the late 1980s. The original Everybody Hates Chris series aired from 2005 to 2009.
In addition to Rock, the revival features original cast members Terry Crews and Tichina Arnold, who return as Chris’ parents, Julius and Rochelle. The new voice cast includes Tim Johnson Jr. as young Chris, Ozioma Akagha as Chris’ sister Tonya, Terrence Little Gardenhigh as Chris’ brother Drew, and Gunnar Sizemore as Chris’ best friend Greg.
Everybody Still Hates Chris is executive produced by Chris Rock and showrunner Sanjay Shah. The production team also includes Ali LeRoi, Michael Rotenberg, Dave Becky, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina. Titmouse, known for its work on Big Mouth, serves as the animation studio for the series.
