Main Trailer Revealed for Live-Action of “Mr. Yano’s Ordinary Days”

The official website for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Yui Tamura’s manga “Yano-kun no Futsu no Hibi” (“Mr. Yano’s Ordinary Days”) has unveiled its main trailer today.

The trailer showcases two key songs from the film: the theme song “Yellow Yellow” by FANTASTICS and the insert song “Staying with You” by Travis Japan. Notably, “Staying with You” is being revealed for the first time in this trailer.

In addition to the trailer, the film’s main poster has been released. The poster features the tagline: “Love starts from bad luck!?”

Set to premiere in Japan on November 15, 2024, the live-action adaptation is also set to be followed by an anime version.

The film stars Yusei Yagi, a member of the Japanese dance and vocal group FANTASTICS, in his first leading role as Tsuyoshi Yano. Anji Ikehata plays the female lead, Kiyoko Yoshida. The film is directed by Takehiko Shinjo, known for his work on adaptations of popular shojo manga such as “Paradise Kiss” (2011), “Kiyoku Yawaku” (2013), “Daytime Shooting Star” (2017), and “And Yet, You Are So Sweet” (2023).

The film’s official website provides the following synopsis:

Kiyoko Yoshida, the class chairperson and a chronic worrier, is troubled by Tsuyoshi Yano, who consistently arrives at school covered in injuries. After investigating with her friends, Yoshida learns that Yano is an extremely unlucky individual, hindering his ability to lead a typical high school life. Moved by his plight, Yoshida decides to support him as best as she can. As Yoshida spends time with Yano, she finds herself drawn to his genuine and straightforward nature, though she struggles to bridge the emotional gap between them. Meanwhile, the most popular boy in school confesses his feelings to Yoshida, adding another layer of complexity to the story. As Yano begins to experience the emotion of love for the first time, his connection with Yoshida deepens.
