The latest installment on Disney Plus, a continuation of the acclaimed WandaVision, blends darkness with an infectious energy as Agatha embarks on a perilous quest to reclaim her powers. Much like Dorothy’s journey in The Wizard of Oz, Agatha gathers a coven of allies to traverse the mythical Witches’ Road, which subjects its travelers to increasingly challenging trials. The writers, led by showrunner Jac Schaeffer, intentionally draw parallels to the classic tale, with Agatha humorously referring to Teen as “Toto” and the Road resembling the one that leads Dorothy away from Munchkinland.

Hahn’s physical comedy shines throughout, with her facial expressions and mannerisms drawing comparisons to legends like Jim Carrey and Lucille Ball. This series solidifies her status as one of Marvel’s best casting decisions.

While the first four episodes primarily focus on lighthearted adventures, the trailer hints at deeper emotional arcs to come, including Agatha’s complicated history involving her son Nicholas Scratch and the betrayal by her Salem sisters. The upcoming episodes are anticipated to delve into her tumultuous relationship with the enigmatic Rio Vidal (Aubrey Plaza), promising a blend of humor, mystery, and romance.
Agatha All Along successfully builds on the legacy of WandaVision, combining humor, intrigue, and elements of friendship and witchcraft.
