Netflix has officially announced that its highly anticipated spy thriller Black Doves will debut on December 5, releasing first-look images of the series. Set during the Christmas season in London, the six-episode drama centers around Helen Webb, a wife and mother who has secretly worked as a spy for over a decade.
The series, which has already been renewed for a second season, boasts a star-studded cast. Keira Knightley takes the lead as Helen, alongside Ben Whishaw, Sarah Lancashire, Andrew Koji, Tracey Ullman, and Adeel Akhtar.
Black Doves follows Helen (Knightley) as her life takes a dramatic turn when her secret lover is murdered. Together with her trusted friend Sam (Whishaw), she dives into a dangerous mission to uncover a complex conspiracy involving London’s criminal underworld and a looming global political threat.
The series is created by Joe Barton, known for Giri/Haji, and is produced by SISTER, with executive producers Jane Featherstone and Keira Knightley. Directors for the show include Alex Gabassi (The Crown) and Lisa Gunning (The Power).
Black Doves will stream exclusively on Netflix starting December 5, promising an action-packed thrill ride for viewers.
