Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated reboot of “Blade” has been delayed, and Disney has announced that “Badlands,” the latest installment in the “Predator” franchise, will take its place. Marvel has also announced release dates for three unnamed projects set to hit theaters in 2028, on February 18th, May 5th, and November 10th.
The delay of the “Blade” reboot is not surprising, as the project has faced numerous obstacles in production, including the pandemic, worker strikes, and the departure of two directors. However, Marvel remains committed to bringing the vampire hunter to the big screen, with Mahershala Ali set to star as the titular character.
As for “Badlands,” the film is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who also helmed the previous installment, “The Predator.” Starring Ellie Fanning, the film takes place in the future and is a new story in the franchise, with plot details being kept under wraps.
The “Predator” franchise began in 1987 with Arnold Schwarzenegger starring in the first film. Over the years, the series has had its ups and downs, but “The Predator” redefined the concept of extraterrestrial hunters coming to Earth to take on the planet’s most dangerous prey.
