The Netflix new film “Woman in Cabin 10” starring Keira Knightley has started filming and more actors have joined the cast: Guy Pearce, Hannah Waddingham, David Ajala, Kaya Scodelario, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw will appear.
Adapted from Ruth Ware’s best-selling novel of the same name: A travel journalist is sent to cover the launching ceremony of a luxury yacht. In the dead of night, she witnesses a passenger being thrown into the sea. However, no one believes her story because it is found that everyone on the ship is accounted for. As the ship sails through the desolate North Sea, she stubbornly searches for answers at the risk of her life.
Directed by Simon Stone (“The Dig,” “Yerma”) and written by Joe Shrapnel & Anna Waterhouse (“Aftermath,” “Rebecca”).
Knightley also has another Netflix project. She will star in the spy thriller series “Black Pigeon” with Ben Whishaw and Sarah Lancashire. It will be released on Netflix this year.
Created by Joe Barton (“The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself,” “Moses”), it tells the story of spy Helen who starts a passionate relationship. When her lover, who doesn’t know her identity, becomes a victim of the London underworld and endangers her secret identity, her employer sends an old friend, Sam, to protect her. Together, they discover a huge interconnected conspiracy, leading them to question the cost of their moral choices.
In addition, Knightley will also star in the sci-fi thriller “Conception.” Set in a dystopian future, the British government controls the upbringing of its citizens’ children. Loyal civil servant Rita firmly believes in the harsh system she maintains until unexpected events endanger her identity as a parent, and she instead becomes a victim of the laws she easily enforces on others.
Directed and written by Camille Griffin (“Silent Night”), it is a British production. Maven Screen Media produces the film. CAA and Range Media Partners are responsible for North American distribution, and Fortitude is responsible for distribution outside North America and has invested in the film.
