DC series “Green Lantern,” casting for the lead has begun. Kyle Chandler (“Godzilla: King of the Monsters”) is in talks to play Hal Jordan.
The series focuses on two Green Lanterns, Jordan and John Stewart. The casting for Stewart is still ongoing.
Chris Mundy (“Ozark”) serves as the showrunner.
Damon Lindelof (“Lost,” “Watchmen,” “Prometheus”) and renowned comic book author Tom King are the writers. The search for a director is also underway. The series is planned to be filmed in Atlanta from January to June next year.
The series is described as having a style similar to “True Detective.” It mainly tells an Earth-based story – when rookie Green Lantern Stewart and legendary Jordan, two interstellar policemen, investigate a murder case in the American heartland, they are drawn into a dark mystery on Earth.
It is said that the plot of this series will also hold an important position in DC’s future film and television stories. “It is a very important series for us.”
