Andor star Diego Luna has confirmed that season 2 of the hit Star Wars prequel show will serve as an origin story for Cassian’s bond with a key ally from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Premiered on Disney+ in 2022, the show depicted Cassian’s early years.
After footage hinted at K-2S0’s return, Luna reveals in an interview that the new season will shed light on how Cassian and the droid came to work together. He teases answering questions about their backstory, though K-2S0 might not be as remembered initially.
K-2S0, a fan favorite from Rogue One, provided combat prowess and comic relief. Theories exist about its reprogramming, and season 2 could see more comedy after Cassian reprograms it.
While building on Cassian’s origin after Rogue One seemed odd at first, Andor was great. With Cassian’s character expansion in season 1, K-2S0’s inclusion in season 2 is likely to be strong, enhancing the events of Rogue One by showing Cassian’s emotions and providing comedy.
