Liam Neeson’s eventful 2024 has seen him engaged in multiple projects. His $493M mythological action movie remake, Clash of the Titans, is set to have a new streaming home in December. Neeson’s career is a rich tapestry of diverse roles, from the gravitas of Oskar Schindler in Schindler’s List to the action-packed Bryan Mills in Taken. He’s also delved into mythological epics like this one and playing Ra’s al Ghul in The Dark Knight trilogy.
Directed by Lous Leterrier, the Clash of the Titans remake follows Sam Worthington’s Perseus on a quest to stop Hades, played by Ralph Fiennes, from unleashing the Kraken on Argos. Despite mixed reviews, it was a box office success, grossing over $493 million and spawning a sequel. Now, nearly 15 years after its theatrical release, it’s returning to Max on December 1. Meanwhile, its sequel, Wrath of the Titans, is on AMC+. Critics weren’t overly impressed, with the remake scoring 27% on Rotten Tomatoes compared to the original’s 63%. The focus on CGI, 3D conversion, and screenplay were points of criticism. However, with Neeson and Worthington’s star power, it’ll be interesting to see if its new streaming home boosts its popularity.
