The trailer for A Legend, the much-anticipated sequel to 2005’s The Myth, has been released, offering a glimpse of Jackie Chan’s dual role, enhanced by de-aging technology. Directed by Stanley Tong and produced by the same studio behind Ip Man, the fantasy-action film hit theaters in mainland China in July 2024 and is set for a global digital release on Netflix on January 21, 2025.
In the trailer, Chan portrays both an acclaimed archaeologist and a de-aged Han dynasty general. The story follows the archaeologist who uncovers an ancient artifact, forging a mystical connection with the general from the past. The footage showcases Chan traveling through time, switching between his roles in the present and past.

While A Legend showcases the growing role of AI in filmmaking, its use of de-aging tech has already sparked mixed reactions.
