One year after the release of the slasher film “Thanksgiving,” which was set in Plymouth, Massachusetts and had a masked killer on a murderous spree, director Eli Roth has offered some exciting updates on “Thanksgiving 2.” The first movie, starring Patrick Dempsey and others, received an 84% Rotten Tomatoes score and a sequel was already confirmed. Roth now reveals that filming for the sequel will start in March, the script is complete, and several actors from the original will return.
In an interview, Roth said the sequel will up the ante without a big budget increase. It’ll focus on the aftermath of the first movie’s murders and another pursuit. Characters like Gaby (Addison Rae), Jessica (Nell Verlaque), and others are likely to return. Considering the first movie’s success at the box office and on Netflix, and with Roth aiming for more unique kills, “Thanksgiving 2” could be an even bigger hit, continuing the bloody and exciting story of the original.
