Jeremy Allen White, known for his roles in Shameless and The Bear, is set to join the Star Wars universe. Lucasfilm has announced that instead of a fourth season of The Mandalorian on Disney+, the series will continue with a theatrical release titled The Mandalorian & Grogu, slated for 2026.
White will lend his voice to Rotta the Hutt, the son of the notorious Jabba the Hutt. First introduced in the 2008 Star Wars: The Clone Wars film, Rotta was kidnapped by Count Dooku and later rescued by Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano. Though he made a brief appearance in the animated series, his future within the broader Star Wars timeline remains largely unexplored.
While White’s role will begin with voicing Rotta, it’s possible he could take on a more prominent character in future Star Wars projects, following in the footsteps of other actors who have portrayed multiple roles in the franchise. His involvement in the upcoming Mandalorian film is a thrilling development for fans, as it opens the door to exploring more of Rotta’s story in the official Star Wars canon.
