“You, Me & Her” to Premiere on Attend Distribution Platform

by Barbara

The indie romantic comedy You, Me & Her, rated R, will make history as the first film to utilize the innovative Attend direct distribution platform, recently launched by The Fithian Group. The film, released by Two Hands Productions, will open nationwide on February 14, 2025, alongside the debut of its first official trailer.

Attend, a pioneering digital and marketing platform, aims to transform the theatrical distribution model by allowing filmmakers and producers to directly connect with theaters, bypassing traditional distributors. This initiative, which seeks to democratize access to cinema screens and offer broader releases for a variety of films, has received backing from several influential filmmakers, including Sean Baker, Steven Soderbergh, Damien Chazelle, and Patty Jenkins, who have all signed a statement of support. Founded in 2023, The Fithian Group was established by National Association of Theatre Owners executives John Fithian, Patrick Corcoran, and Jackie Brenneman.

The film itself, directed by Dan Levy Dagerman and written by Selina Ringel, centers around a married couple, Mags and Ash, whose relationship is strained by constant arguments and compromises. During a much-needed vacation without their children, the couple’s tension threatens to overshadow their getaway. However, their dynamics change when they meet Angela, a free-spirited digital nomad who sparks unexpected feelings in Mags. Angela encourages Mags to reconnect with a carefree version of herself, leading the couple to flirt with the idea of a threesome. However, they soon discover that things are never as simple as they seem.

Attend offers filmmakers the ability to upload film details and promotional materials, creating a searchable database for exhibitors to discover new films for programming. The platform also assists with the logistics of delivering these films to theaters, making it a streamlined tool for independent films looking for a larger audience.

Ringel, reflecting on the partnership with Attend, said, “The chance to experiment and collaborate directly with theater owners on the marketing and release of our film feels like a mirror of the movie’s themes. We’re finding this movie’s potential hand in hand with the people who are bringing it to audiences.”

John Fithian’s colleague at The Fithian Group, Jackie Brenneman, emphasized the significance of the trailer release, stating, “The release of You, Me & Her’s trailer is another concrete step in the process of making our online distribution marketplace a reality. We are learning both the opportunities and the pain points for exhibitors, filmmakers, and marketers that we will address with Attend.”
