A fresh key visual and trailer for Aldnoah.Zero (Re+), the upcoming compilation film based on the popular Aldnoah.Zero anime series, have been revealed. The film will make its theatrical debut in Japan on February 28, 2025, for a limited screening period.
“Aldnoah.Zero (Re+)” will serve as a reimagined compilation of the original TV anime, encompassing the entire series while also introducing a brand-new episode—episode 24.5, titled “Fragments of Rain -The Penultimate Truth-”. This episode will offer additional insight into the story, providing fans with new content alongside the familiar narrative from the show.
The Aldnoah.Zero series originally premiered in the Summer of 2014, with its first cour followed by the second cour in Winter 2015. The series is a mecha sci-fi drama directed by Ei Aoki, known for his work on Overtake! and ID Invaded. The story was developed by Gen Urobuchi, famed for his writing on Fate/Zero and Puella Magi Madoka Magica, while Takako Shimura, renowned for her work on Aoi Hana, served as character draft designer. Animation production was handled by A-1 Pictures and Troyca.
The Aldnoah.Zero (Re+) compilation film will also bring together a talented production team, including Katsuhiko Takayama, who served as the series screenwriter for the original anime and is known for his work on The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash. The film’s mechanical designs are being crafted by I-IV and Kenji Teraoka, with Teraoka’s notable credits including Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch of Mercury. Takahashi Hashimoto, who worked on Blue Gender and Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture, will contribute as the mechanical and effects animator. Renowned composer Hiroyuki Sawano, famed for his work on Attack on Titan, will return to provide the music for the film.
Returning to lend their voices to the anime’s beloved characters are Natsuki Hanae as Inaho Kaizuka, Kensho Ono as Slaine Troyard, and Sora Amamiya as Asseylum Vers Allusia.
Fans of the Aldnoah.Zero franchise can look forward to this cinematic release, which promises both nostalgia and exciting new developments within the story.
