Scream 7, the latest installment of the iconic horror franchise, is set to hit theaters in February 2026. The movie has added another returning star to its cast list, Jasmine Savoy Brown, who will reprise her role as Mindy Meeks-Martin.
Brown first appeared in Scream 5 and 6 as the on-screen twin to Mason Gooding’s Chad Meeks-Martin, and together they form part of the “Core Four” survivors. The Meeks-Martin twins, along with the Carpenter sisters Samantha and Tara, have been at the center of the franchise’s recent installments. However, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, who played the Carpenter sisters, will not be returning for the new movie.
The addition of Brown to the cast of Scream 7 is significant as it reunites the legacy characters with the newer, younger ones, representing a passing of the torch in the franchise. It also signals a possible return to the franchise’s roots, as Scream 6 deviated from the norm by not featuring franchise lead Neve Campbell and taking the series to New York City for the first time. With Brown’s character Mindy having played a crucial role in the previous movies, her return is expected to bring more of the same excitement and mystery to Scream 7.
As the franchise continues to evolve, Scream 7 is shaping up to be an interesting mix of classic and new elements. While the identity of Ghostface remains a mystery, fans can look forward to seeing how the story unfolds with the return of familiar faces and the introduction of new ones.
