Cast and Crew Details

The film features an ensemble cast, including Sean Michael Conway, Elena Juliano, Mabel Thomas, Marie-Louise Boisnier, Jeff Thomas, and Steven McCormack. Angela Relucio (Code Black, The Cabining) and Sarah Nicklin (Nun of That, The Black Mass) also star, with Jason Stephens taking on the title role of the sinister Popeye.

Robert Michael Ryan (Ouija Witch) directs the film from a screenplay by John Doolan (Remains). Ryan hinted at the old-school approach to the movie’s horror elements: “We went old-school with this movie, using practical effects for the horror. We wanted the film to have a visceral feel reminiscent of the classic horror films of the ’80s.”

A Fresh Horror Concept with Nostalgic Roots

Popeye the Slayer Man combines nostalgia with modern horror, offering a gritty and unsettling interpretation of the iconic sailor. The film’s emphasis on practical effects and its haunting premise are set to appeal to fans of classic horror while attracting a new audience intrigued by its unique twist.

With its world premiere set for Berlin and a theatrical release planned for 2025, Popeye the Slayer Man is positioning itself as a standout addition to the evolving genre of horror reboots. Stay tuned for more updates as the premiere approaches.
