NEON has unveiled the red band trailer for Hell of a Summer, an upcoming horror-comedy slasher film co-written, co-directed, and starring Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard.
The film serves as a playful modern homage to the iconic summer camp slasher genre of the 1980s, promising to deliver a campy and thrilling experience that horror fans are bound to enjoy.
The story follows 24-year-old camp counselor Jason Hochberg, played by Fred Hechinger (Fear Street 1994), who arrives at Camp Pineway only to feel disconnected from his teenage co-workers. However, what begins as an awkward summer quickly turns deadly when a masked killer starts targeting the counselors, picking them off one by one.
Wolfhard collaborated with Billy Bryk (Ghostbusters: Afterlife) as both co-writer and co-director. Bryk also stars in the film, alongside an impressive cast that includes D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai (Reservation Dogs), Abby Quinn (Mad About You), and Pardis Saremi (Career Opportunities in Murder and Mayhem).
Expressing his enthusiasm for the project, Wolfhard shared, “I am so excited to be co-directing my first feature film. I get the chance to work with an incredible cast and crew, and to work with a company like 30WEST and Aggregate is a real dream.”
Fans of the slasher genre can look forward to seeing Hell of a Summer when NEON brings it to theaters on April 18, 2025.
