A captivating new trailer for Ash, the upcoming sci-fi horror film by Flying Lotus, has just dropped, offering a striking glimpse into a neon-lit descent into terror. The film promises to take audiences on a thrilling and mind-bending journey through hostile, nightmarish landscapes.
The plot follows an amnesiac astronaut, Riya, who uncovers the gruesome murders of her crew aboard a space station. Stranded on the desolate exoplanet Ash, she forms an uneasy alliance with fellow astronaut Brion as they struggle to survive amidst psychological and physical torment.
Produced by RLJR Films and Shudder, Ash stars Aaron Paul, best known for his role in Breaking Bad, alongside Eiza González from Baby Driver. The film also features performances by Iko Uwais, Kate Elliott, Beulah Koale, and Flying Lotus himself.
The trailer suggests eerie, Lovecraftian horrors lurking beneath the surface of Ash. These grotesque forces appear to have driven Riya’s crew to commit unspeakable acts, forcing Riya and Brion to unravel the dark mystery behind the slaughter that unfolded.
Flying Lotus (Steven D. Bingley-Ellison), a Los Angeles-based filmmaker, producer, rapper, and DJ, helms the film following his previous works, including the 2017 body horror Kuso and his segment “Ozzy’s Dungeon” in the 2022 Shudder Original V/H/S/99.
Written by Jonni Remmler, Ash is produced by Nate Bolotin and Mathew Metcalf, with a stellar lineup of executive producers, including Nick Spicer, Maxime Cottray, Aram Tertzakian, Maile Daughtery, Flying Lotus, Neill Blomkamp, Dave Brown, and Adam Riback.
Get ready for a cosmic nightmare when Ash hits theaters on March 21, 2025, before making its streaming debut on Shudder.
