Marcia Gay Harden has been cast as a guest star in the highly anticipated Apple TV+ series Margo’s Got Money Troubles, which is based on the Rufi Thorpe novel of the same name. The series, set to debut with eight episodes, already boasts an impressive ensemble, including Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Offerman, and Thaddea Graham.
“Margo’s Got Money Troubles” follows the life of Margo Millet, played by Fanning. Margo, the daughter of a Hooters waitress (Pfeiffer) and an ex-pro wrestler (Offerman), is a 20-something unemployed single mother struggling to make ends meet. Desperate for financial stability, she turns to an OnlyFans account. When her estranged father returns to her life, Margo begins applying his wrestling lessons to her new online venture, leading to unexpected success.
Harden’s addition to the cast marks another notable collaboration with Apple, having already appeared in all three seasons of The Morning Show. Her performances on the series have earned her two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. The acclaimed actress has also starred in CBS’s So Help Me Todd and received multiple Emmy nominations for her roles in The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler and Law & Order: SVU. Harden’s film career includes an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Pollock, and a nomination for Mystic River in the same category.
David E. Kelley is at the helm as writer, executive producer, and showrunner for Margo’s Got Money Troubles. In addition to starring in the series, Fanning, Kidman, and Pfeiffer will also serve as executive producers. The project also sees executive producers Brittany Kahan Ward, Dakota Fanning, Per Saari, and Matthew Tinker, with A24 producing.
