A new character spotlight for Night of the Zoopocalypse has introduced audiences to Xavier, a movie-loving lemur, adding to the colorful cast of this animated horror-comedy.
The film, set to hit theaters on March 7 through Viva Pictures, is inspired by a concept from legendary horror writer Clive Barker, who also serves as executive producer. This animated adventure takes place at the Colepepper Zoo, where chaos erupts, forcing a group of unlikely heroes to band together and fight back.
Leading the charge is Gracie, a clever young wolf, who teams up with the tough yet compassionate mountain lion Dan. Alongside them are Xavier, the film buff lemur, Frida, a fearless capybara, and Poot, a pint-sized yet mighty pygmy hippo. This ragtag team must outsmart a horde of zombie animals to reclaim their zoo home.
Directed by veteran animators Ricardo Curtis (known for The Incredibles) and Rodrigo Perez-Castro (The Book of Life), Night of the Zoopocalypse is based on a script by James Kee (A Christmas Horror Story). The film is produced by Steven Hoban (Cube, Ginger Snaps). The voice cast includes big names like David Harbour (Stranger Things), Scott Thompson (The Kids in the Hall), Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (The Mandalorian), and Gabbi Kosmidis (Unicorn Academy).
Rated PG for action, peril, and scary imagery, Night of the Zoopocalypse promises an action-packed thrill ride for all ages. UK audiences can look forward to its release this Halloween season, courtesy of Kazoo Films.
