‘Dope Thief’ Brings High Stakes Crime Drama to Apple TV+

by Barbara

Apple TV+ is set to launch its thrilling new crime drama, Dope Thief, starring Brian Tyree Henry and Wagner Moura as unlikely DEA agents. The series, executive produced by renowned filmmaker Ridley Scott, kicks off with its first episode directed by Scott himself.

Dope Thief is based on Dennis Tafoya’s novel of the same name, and follows two lifelong friends and petty criminals from Philadelphia. The duo embarks on a seemingly simple heist, posing as DEA agents to rob a secluded house in the countryside. However, their small-time scheme quickly escalates into a high-stakes operation as they inadvertently expose one of the largest hidden narcotics corridors on the Eastern Seaboard, turning their criminal activity into a deadly game of survival.
