Supernatural Thriller ‘The Island Between Tides’ Hits Theaters in March

by Barbara

The supernatural thriller The Island Between Tides, an adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s gothic tale Mary Rose, is set to hit theaters in the U.S., U.K., and Canada this month. The film, distributed by Vertical and XYZ Films, will be released on March 7 in Canada and the U.S., where it will be titled The Lost Daughter, and on March 21 in the U.K., where it retains its original title.

Directed by Austin Andrews and Andrew Holmes, The Island Between Tides follows Lily (Paloma Kwiatkowski), who is drawn to a remote tidal island by a mysterious melody. When she returns at the next low tide, she discovers that decades have passed.

J.M. Barrie’s Mary Rose debuted as a stage play in 1920, and legendary filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock once aspired to adapt it into a film, though his plans never materialized. Now, The Island Between Tides brings the haunting tale to the big screen.
