by Barbara

The highly anticipated crime drama Fatal Crossing (Pigerne fra Englandsbåden), based on the bestselling novel Fatal Crossing by Danish journalist and author Lone Theils, will premiere in the US and Canada on MHz Choice on Tuesday, June 10. The eight-episode series stars Marie Sandø Jondal, known for her roles in Follow the Money and The Marco Effect, as Nora Sand, a Danish journalist thrust into a high-stakes investigation.

Nora Sand, a seasoned foreign correspondent for a Danish newspaper, is at the height of her career when she is suddenly accused of having an affair with a key source in a controversial case. In response, her editor recalls her to Denmark, suspending her from her position. Seeking refuge, Nora returns to her childhood home, planning to lay low until the scandal subsides. However, her quiet retreat takes an unexpected turn when she receives an anonymous tip about a long-unsolved missing persons case.

The case involves two young girls who mysteriously disappeared during a ferry trip from Denmark to England in the mid-1980s. Despite the passage of time, their fate remains unknown. Nora’s curiosity is piqued when she receives a cryptic envelope containing old photographs of the missing girls, prompting her to launch her own investigation. As she digs deeper into the cold case, she uncovers an unsettling link to notorious serial killer William Hix, played by Ian Burns (The Legacy), who is serving a life sentence in England.

As Nora delves into the mystery, the stakes grow higher, with a chilling suspicion that another killer might be tracking her every move. As her personal safety is increasingly jeopardized, Nora must navigate the dangers of uncovering a past that refuses to stay buried.

Fatal Crossing promises to deliver a thrilling, suspense-filled ride as Nora Sand confronts dark secrets from the past, all while battling the shadows of her own troubled career.
