Brainstorm Media has released the official trailer for Psycho Therapy, a gripping new film that promises to blend humor and suspense. Starring Golden Globe nominee Steve Buscemi, the film offers a fresh take on the psychological thriller genre.
The full title, Psycho Therapy: The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided to Write about a Serial Killer, may be a mouthful, but it perfectly encapsulates the film’s eccentric premise. Written, directed, and produced by Tolga Karaçelik, the film introduces an intriguing mix of dark comedy and tension.
In the trailer, Buscemi portrays a retired serial killer whose quiet life is disrupted when he becomes both muse and consultant to a struggling writer in need of inspiration for his next novel. What begins as a seemingly harmless collaboration quickly spirals into chaos as the writer becomes entangled in the killer’s dangerous world.
Buscemi is joined by a talented ensemble cast, including Sydney Cole Alexander, Ward Horton, Olli Haaskivi, Jacob Ming-Trent, and Anthony Michael Lopez.
The official synopsis reveals the heart of the story: “A writer befriends a retired serial killer in a desperate attempt to find inspiration for his next novel and save his marriage. Covering as his marriage counselor, the killer teaches him his methods as reality becomes deadlier than fiction.”
Produced by Scott Aharoni, Wren Arthur, Sinan Eczacibasi, Mustafa Kaymak, Alex Peace, and Metin Alihan Yalcindag, the film features cinematography by Natalie Kingston and editing by Evren Lus. Their collective efforts bring Karaçelik’s vision to life in a film that stands out for its unique mix of suspense and humor.
With its distinctive narrative and strong performances, Psycho Therapy is poised to captivate audiences. The film will open in New York theaters on April 4th, followed by a wider release and VOD launch on April 11th. Fans of unconventional thrillers won’t want to miss this one.
