Netflix has dropped the highly anticipated official trailer for Revelations, the latest horror-thriller directed by Yeon Sang-ho, known for his work on Train to Busan and other gripping Korean films. Slated for release globally on March 21st, 2025, the film promises to deliver a chilling blend of religious tension and psychological horror, sure to captivate fans of the genre.
Revelations follows the journey of Min-chan (played by Ryu Jun-yeol), a pastor who believes it is his divine mission to punish the person responsible for a local churchgoer’s disappearance. His investigation leads him to Kwon Yang-rae (Shin Min-jae), an ex-convict who coincidentally visited the church and is soon accused of the crime. Meanwhile, detective Yeon-hui (Shin Hyun-bin) is haunted by visions of her deceased sister and becomes embroiled in the investigation, suspecting a deeper connection between Min-chan and Yang-rae.
The film builds on the intense atmosphere of Korean thrillers, with accusations flying and tensions escalating into violence. As both Min-chan and Yeon-hui pursue their respective truths, the line between righteousness and madness blurs, creating an increasingly volatile and unnerving narrative. The trailer intensifies the sense of urgency and dread, escalating to a brutal climax that promises to be both disturbing and captivating.
Directed by Yeon Sang-ho, whose previous works like Train to Busan and Psychokinesis have made waves internationally, Revelations is a fresh addition to his diverse portfolio. Co-written with Kyu-Seok Choi, the film also boasts executive producers Alfonso Cuarón and Hailey Yoomin Yang.
Fans of supernatural horror and psychological thrillers won’t want to miss this disturbing new creation, set to stream on Netflix starting this Friday.
