The newly released trailer for Shadow Force offers a thrilling glimpse into an intense action-packed drama, featuring Kerry Washington and Omar Sy as they protect their family from a vengeful special forces group.
In the film, Washington and Sy portray Kyrah and Isaac, former leaders of a covert organization known as Shadow Force. After leaving the group to raise their son and pursue a life together, they find themselves targeted when Shadow Force seeks retaliation. The couple must fight for their family’s safety against overwhelming odds.
Joining Washington and Sy in the cast are Mark Strong, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Cliff “Method Man” Smith. Directed by Joe Carnahan, who co-wrote the script with Leon Chills, Shadow Force is produced by Washington, Pilar Savone, Stephen “Dr.” Love, and Sterling K. Brown.
Speaking at the NAACP Image Awards, Washington reflected on her role in the film, describing the experience as a fun and fulfilling dive into action. “We had so much fun making this movie, so we just hope people have as much fun watching it as we had making it,” she shared.
Washington also expressed her enthusiasm for the film’s blend of family drama and high-octane action. “What I love about this film is that, at its heart, it’s this wonderful family drama, but it comes in all this badass action. It has you kind of biting your nails, but also your heart is in it with this family. It’s one of the best Black love stories that I’ve seen in a long time.”
Shadow Force will be hitting theaters on May 2, distributed by Lionsgate.
