Apple TV+ has announced the upcoming eight-episode comedic drama The Husbands, featuring SAG and BAFTA Award winner Juno Temple, best known for her roles in Ted Lasso, Fargo, and Atonement. The series, produced by A24, is based on the New York Times bestselling book of the same name by author and game designer Holly Gramazio.
The story follows Lauren (Temple), who returns to her London flat late one night, only to be greeted by her husband, Michael. The catch? She’s never seen this man before. As Lauren grapples with the mystery of her seemingly new husband, Michael goes to the attic to change a lightbulb—only to vanish, replaced by another man. When Lauren realizes that her attic is generating an endless supply of husbands, she is forced to confront a deeper question: If changing your life is as simple as swapping a lightbulb, how do you know when you’ve made the right choice? At what point do you stop striving for a better life and start embracing the one you have?
The series is executive produced by WGA Award winner and lead writer Miriam Battye (Succession, Dead Ringers, Beef), Emmy Award nominee and lead director Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya, Pam & Tommy), and Annie Marter (The Guilty, Nobody, The Devil All the Time), in collaboration with Holly Gramazio and A24.
