Focus Features has released the official trailer for Wes Anderson’s upcoming film, The Phoenician Scheme, set to hit theaters on May 30.
This espionage black comedy centers on Zsa-zsa Korda (played by Benicio del Toro), a wealthy man who has survived six near-death experiences. He names his estranged daughter, Liesl (Mia Threapleton), as the sole heir to his fortune, despite their strained relationship. Alongside Liesl is Bjorn (Michael Cera), a tutor, and the trio embarks on a mission to ensure the success of what Zsa-zsa considers the “most important project” of his life.
The film also features a star-studded cast, including Riz Ahmed, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Mathieu Amalric, Richard Ayoade, Jeffrey Wright, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rupert Friend, and Hope Davis.
Anderson co-writes the script with his frequent collaborator Roman Coppola. The film is produced by Steven Rales, Jeremy Dawson, and John Peet.
The Phoenician Scheme opens in theaters on May 30.
