Jefferson White, known for Yellowstone, and Robert Carlyle, famous for Trainspotting, have joined the cast of the upcoming JFK assassination thriller November 1963. White will portray Lee Harvey Oswald, while Carlyle will take on the role of Jack Ruby.
The film also stars John Travolta (Pulp Fiction), Mandy Patinkin (Homeland), and Dermot Mulroney (August: Osage County). Directed by two-time Oscar nominee Roland Joffé (The Killing Fields), November 1963 will focus on the intense 48 hours surrounding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
The film explores the alleged involvement of the Chicago Outfit, a powerful crime group, in the assassination. It draws from firsthand accounts, including exclusive insights from the family of Sam Giancana, the notorious head of the Chicago Outfit.
Travolta will play Johnny Roselli, a key figure in organized crime with connections to Las Vegas. Patinkin portrays Anthony Accardo, the powerful head of the Chicago Outfit. Mulroney will play Chuckie Nicoletti, Giancana’s bodyguard and a notorious hitman.
The script was written by Nicki Celozzi, Sam Giancana’s nephew, who is also producing the film. Bonnie Giancana, Sam’s daughter, is serving as an executive producer. Celozzi and producer Kevin DeWalt commented on the film’s historical significance, highlighting the Outfit’s role in shaping a pivotal moment in U.S. history.
Director Joffé praised the cast, calling it a “remarkable story with a remarkable cast.”
November 1963 promises to be a gripping and unforgettable look into the mystery surrounding one of America’s most significant historical events.
