MobLand, a crime drama produced in association with Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, has become an immediate hit for Paramount+. Just one week after its premiere, the series has set a new milestone.
As of Thursday, MobLand has reached 8.8 million global viewers, marking the biggest launch for any new series on Paramount+. This represents an incredible 298% increase in viewership since its debut, where it initially attracted 2.2 million viewers. The show now ranks among the top three launches in the history of Paramount+, alongside popular series like 1923 and Landman.
This series is the first TV project from director Guy Ritchie for Paramount+. Ritchie serves as an executive producer, while Ronan Bennett (creator of Top Boy) and Jez Butterworth (writer of Ford v Ferrari) penned the series. The production also includes several other prominent figures like Keith Cox, Nina L. Diaz, and Tom Hardy, who is also an executive producer.
Featuring a star-studded cast, MobLand stars Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, Paddy Considine, Joanne Froggatt, and several other notable names. Hardy plays the role of Harry Da Souza, a street-smart “fixer” caught in the middle of a violent conflict between two rival London crime families.
The show’s synopsis reveals an intense power struggle as the Harrigans and Stevensons, two warring families, clash in a battle for control. The conflict threatens to bring down entire empires, and the only saving grace is the loyalty to family above all.
New episodes of MobLand are available for streaming on Paramount+. The first two episodes are already live, with the third episode scheduled for release on April 13.
