The first teaser trailer for Weapons, the upcoming horror film from Barbarian director Zach Cregger, has dropped, revealing a chilling glimpse of what’s to come.
Before the full trailer was shown at CinemaCon, details about the film were scarce. However, it was described as “a multi-interrelated story horror epic,” inspired by the tone of Paul Thomas Anderson’s Magnolia (1999).
Warner Bros. has now shared an official synopsis, though it offers limited insight into the plot: “When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the same time, a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance.”
The teaser showcases a disturbing scene where children rush out of their homes at 2:17 AM. A voiceover tells the father of one of the missing kids, Mr. Graff, that he understands his frustration, hinting at a larger, sinister mystery unfolding.
