The upcoming anime film Little Shark’s Day Out The Movie: A Friend in A Big City has announced its theatrical release date in Japan, set for August 22, 2025. The movie’s main trailer was revealed today, also introducing new cast members.
New Cast Members Announced
The film’s production has added three new voice actors to its cast: Toshiya Miyata, Akira Takano, and Kazuto Mokudai.
Toshiya Miyata, a member of the idol group Kis-My-Ft2, voices an office worker Kozame-chan encounters in the city. “I was thrilled to be part of Kozame-chan’s gentle and healing world,” said Miyata. “I hope the movie brings kindness to everyone.”
Akira Takano, who voices a bartender in the film, shares his excitement, saying he had been captivated by Kozame-chan’s world after watching the episodes. “I’m still a rookie, but I’ll do my best to contribute to this wonderful project!”
Kazuto Mokudai, an idol and actor, voices a host at a club in the city who is saved by Kozame-chan and her friends. “It’s my first time voice acting, and I’m so happy to contribute to the film,” Mokudai expressed. “I hope you enjoy the heartwarming story on the big screen.”
Key Voice Cast and the Plot
Main voice actors Kana Hanazawa (Kozame-chan) and Natsuki Hanae (Haruto) have shared photos of themselves with a plush doll of Kozame-chan, hinting at the film’s charm.
The film follows Kozame-chan as she helps a sad girl named Sora, who is about to transfer to a new high school in the big city. Kozame-chan encourages Sora, telling her she will make new friends. Soon after, Kozame-chan embarks on her own adventure in Tokai (Big City), full of bright lights and busy streets.
This heartwarming film brings a tale of friendship and courage to the big screen.
