Legendary Rocker Contemplates Life’s Unpredictability and Hopes for a Final Farewell Concert

In a surprising twist of fate, the legendary “Prince of Darkness,” Ozzy Osbourne, finds himself as the last man standing among his once hard-living peers. The rock icon, known for his wild lifestyle, expressed bewilderment in a recent interview with Rolling Stone UK, reflecting on the stark reality that many of his drinking companions are no longer alive.

“I should have been dead way before loads of them,” Osbourne admitted, citing fallen comrades like Lemmy Kilmister and Pete Way. “Why am I the last man standing? I don’t understand any of it.”

The reflection comes amidst a series of health setbacks for Osbourne, including a spinal injury and ongoing struggles with Parkinson’s disease since 2003. The singer, who retired from touring due to his health issues, shared the challenges he faced during surgeries, revealing that a tumor was discovered in one of his vertebrae.

Despite his battles with illness, Osbourne remains determined and even expressed his desire to return to the stage. “That’s one of the things I’ve been the most f—ing pissed off at: I never got the chance to say goodbye or thank you [to fans],” he confessed. “If I can’t continue doing shows on a regular basis, I just want to be well enough to do one show where I can say, ‘Hi guys, thanks so much for my life.'”

Osbourne, however, admitted his frustration at the lack of communication from some former Black Sabbath bandmates during his health struggles. While Tony Iommi and Bill Ward reached out, the bassist Geezer Butler, according to Osbourne, hasn’t made contact.

Despite the challenges, Osbourne remains resolute and hopes to dispel any notions that he’s in a constant battle against his health. “I don’t even think about Parkinson’s that much,” he asserted, expressing his annoyance at reports portraying it as his “last battle.”

In the face of uncertainty, Ozzy Osbourne continues to defy the odds, contemplating his journey, and setting his sights on a potential final performance that would allow him to express gratitude to his fans.
