A fresh set of pint-sized collectibles has hit shelves, featuring iconic anti-heroes from the Deadpool & Wolverine universe. Funko has released three new figures available for purchase on their official website. Included in the lineup are variant Dogpool, Wade Wilson paired with the disembodied head of Headpool, and Wolverine accompanied by Babypool. Attendees of the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con can also snag a Kidpool bobblehead figure.
Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, Deadpool & Wolverine marks the third installment in the Deadpool franchise. The film follows Deadpool as he teams up with Wolverine to confront a Multiversal threat, as mandated by the Time Variance Authority. This cinematic debut not only introduces the beloved characters but also welcomes mutantkind into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, paving the way for future X-Men projects.
Among the newcomers in Deadpool & Wolverine is Cassandra Nova, portrayed by Emma Corrin, acclaimed for her role as Princess Diana on The Crown. Cassandra Nova, originally from Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely’s New X-Men #114, is Charles Xavier’s twin and a formidable telepathic villain. Her inclusion promises to add a new layer of intrigue and danger to the MCU.
Director Shawn Levy acknowledged the film’s pivotal role in revitalizing recent MCU box office performances, stating, “We do come along at an interesting time. And we are decidedly something different.” Deadpool & Wolverine is set to hit theaters on July 26, promising a fresh take on the superhero genre.
