by Barbara

In a thrilling update for Batman fans, the Batsuit for the highly anticipated live-action fan film “Gotham Noir” has been officially revealed.

Recently, the excitement surrounding “Gotham Noir,” a new Batman fan film set in a chilling early 20th-century Gotham, has intensified with the unveiling of the film’s Batsuit by costume and prop maker Chris Stanley. Known for his YouTube channels Chris Stanley and Cosplay Chris, Stanley, who is also producing and starring as Bruce Wayne/Batman, showcased the iconic cowl in a newly released video.

In a collaboration with Sarah Leiker and Danielo Barcelli of Luxxe Media, along with Womp Stomp Films founder Vincent DiSanti, Stanley is bringing to life the first-ever live-action Batman horror film. As Stanley explains in the announcement video, “We just want to tell a damn good story while adding horror elements.”

Set in the early 1900s, “Gotham Noir” follows Batman as he hunts a notorious serial killer in a city steeped in darkness. Alongside Stanley as Batman, the film’s cast includes Kourosh Karimian as Commissioner Gordon, Richard Cotter as Alfred Pennyworth, and Sarah Leiker as Selina Kyle/Catwoman. The film will also feature a range of familiar villains from Batman’s Rogues Gallery.

Currently, the project is being funded through a Kickstarter campaign with a goal of $100,000. Enthusiasts and supporters can visit the campaign page to learn more about how to contribute to this unique vision of the Dark Knight’s story.

In the latest video, Stanley delves into the intricate design process behind the Batsuit, which draws inspiration from the gritty, homemade aesthetics reminiscent of Robert Pattinson’s portrayal in The Batman (2022). Stanley praises the cowl’s “demonic” ear design and expresses excitement about embodying the iconic character in this new iteration.

As the film continues to build anticipation, fans are left to speculate on the nickname that might emerge for Stanley’s version of the Dark Knight. Will it be “Batmanley,” a playful nod to his real name, or something else entirely?

To see how Stanley’s Batsuit stacks up against past live-action iterations, we’ve compiled a ranking of the most memorable Batsuits, from the campy designs of the 1960s to the dark and brooding suits of recent films.

Batsuit Rankings: From Worst to Best

1.George Clooney — Batman & Robin (1997)

Clooney’s Batsuit, notable for its infamous “Bat nipples,” is often criticized for its plain design and futuristic additions. Despite some entertainment value in the film, the suit itself is considered one of the least impressive.

2.Adam West — Batman (1966)

West’s iconic blue and gray suit remains a beloved symbol of classic Batman, though it appears somewhat dated compared to modern iterations.

3.Robert Pattinson — The Batman (2022)

Pattinson’s suit, designed to be more grounded and biker-esque, offers a fresh take but has been criticized for its underwhelming appearance.

4.Christian Bale — The Dark Knight Trilogy (2008-2012)

Bale’s Batsuit from The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises is known for its practical design and advanced features, though some find it overly militarized.

5.Val Kilmer — Batman Forever (1995)

Kilmer’s suit from Batman Forever offers a gothic and moody aesthetic but is still overshadowed by the infamous rubber nipples.

6.Christian Bale — Batman Begins (2005)

The Batsuit from Batman Begins is noted for its fresh and brooding design, setting a new standard for the character.

7.Michael Keaton — Batman (1989) & Batman Returns (1992)

Keaton’s Batsuits are celebrated for their sleek and iconic designs, which have left a lasting impact on the character’s legacy.

8.Ben Affleck — Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)

Affleck’s Batsuit, inspired by Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, is praised for its muscular and imposing design, marking it as one of the best.
