The Lord of the Rings is a beloved book series by J.R.R. Tolkien that has been adapted into an equally beloved film trilogy directed by Peter Jackson. The story is set in the fictional universe of Middle-earth and follows a group of characters as they undertake a perilous journey to destroy an evil artifact – the One Ring – and prevent it from falling into the hands of the dark lord Sauron.
