Vin Diesel, known for his iconic roles in the “Fast and Furious” franchise, has ventured into the music scene once again, teaming up with Zion from the Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Zion y Lennox. Together, they lend their voices to “Don’t Stop The Music,” a vibrant Latin dance track produced by Dimitri Vegas, half of the duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike.
The song, which gained early attention online despite initially being leaked without proper credits, quickly amassed over 100 million views on Instagram and TikTok combined. Diesel’s distinctive voice takes center stage as he melodically delivers the titular hook, enhancing the pulsating beats of the song.
A notable feature of the track is a mid-song interlude where a synthesized voice in Spanish declares, “Pa’ mi gente, pa’ mi pueblo, por favor / Dame luz” (“For my people, for my town / Give me the light”).
Diesel’s musical journey began during the pandemic-induced hiatus from movie sets, leading him to release singles like “Feel Like I Do” and “Days Are Gone” under Kygo’s Palm Tree Records in 2020. His interest in music was publicly demonstrated on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” where he expressed his desire to share his heartfelt connections beyond acting.
Beyond his musical pursuits, Diesel is set to return to the big screen in “Riddick: Furya,” the fourth installment in the “Riddick” series, scheduled for release on Aug. 26. The film follows previous installments including “Pitch Black” (2000), “The Chronicles of Riddick” (2004), and “Riddick” (2013).
This collaboration marks another milestone in Diesel’s multifaceted career, showcasing his versatility and passion for both film and music.
