Rosa Laricchiuta, the latest addition to the iconic all-female rock band VIXEN, has shared her initial experiences with the group on the “All Bets Are Off” podcast with Robby Vegas. Joining last month in place of Lorraine Lewis, Laricchiuta expressed both excitement and challenge in her new role.
Describing her introduction to VIXEN, Laricchiuta reflected on the demanding task of learning eleven songs in a short span, emphasizing her love for the melodic rock genre and the band’s repertoire. “I love this melody and I love this song,” she enthused, highlighting her pride in mastering the material. Reflecting on her debut performance at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California alongside bands like GREAT WHITE and QUIET RIOT, Laricchiuta described the overwhelming thrill of stepping onto stage with her newfound “sisters.”
Acknowledging the adrenaline and nerves of those initial shows, Laricchiuta praised her bandmates’ support and the palpable energy on stage. She admitted to occasionally losing herself in the moment but ultimately found grounding in connecting with the audience.
Prior to joining VIXEN, Laricchiuta garnered attention through her participation in “La Voix”, Quebec’s equivalent of “The Voice”, and later gained prominence with her band BLACK ROSE MAZE. Her journey from the Canadian music scene to joining an established American rock outfit marks a significant chapter in her career.
VIXEN, now featuring Laricchiuta alongside founding member Roxy Petrucci, continues to tour extensively with upcoming performances scheduled through the summer and fall.
Britt Lightning, VIXEN’s guitarist, addressed the band’s evolving lineup in a recent podcast appearance, affirming their commitment to maintaining the band’s musical legacy while embracing new chapters. Reflecting on recent changes, Lightning expressed optimism for the future and emphasized the importance of personal chemistry among band members.
