Blackpink’s Lisa continues her ascent in the music industry with her latest solo release, “Rockstar,” which has swiftly climbed various global charts, including a notable debut on multiple charts in the U.S. The single’s entry onto the esteemed Billboard Hot 100 at No. 70 marks Lisa’s third solo hit on the chart, cementing her position in history.
Born in Thailand, Lisa launched her music career in South Korea, where she found immense popularity within the K-pop genre. Prior to “Rockstar,” her solo debut “Lalisa” made waves on the Hot 100 in September 2021, peaking at No. 84. Shortly after, “Money” followed suit, though it peaked at No. 90.
With “Rockstar,” Lisa breaks a tie with CL to claim the record for the most appearances on the Billboard Hot 100 by a solo female artist from the K-pop sphere. CL, known for her collaboration with Psy on “Daddy,” which reached No. 97, and her own hit “Lifted” at No. 94, held the previous record.
Among solo female artists associated with K-pop, Lisa now stands out with her three Hot 100 entries, underscoring her growing influence beyond Blackpink. The group itself has achieved significant success on the Hot 100, with nine tracks charting to date, placing them among the top South Korean acts in Billboard history, second only to BTS.
Lisa’s accomplishment with “Rockstar” not only highlights her individual artistry but also underscores the global appeal and expanding footprint of K-pop in the American music scene.
