British singer Adele has confirmed plans to take a hiatus from music after completing her upcoming concert residency in Munich.
Adele expressed her need for a break, stating, “My tank is quite empty from being on stage every weekend in Las Vegas. I don’t have any plans for new music, at all.” She added that she intends to explore other creative pursuits during her time off.
Adele’s “Weekends With Adele” concert residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, which began in November , is set to conclude on November 23. Before her final shows in Las Vegas, she will perform in Munich, where she is scheduled to hold two concerts per week for five weeks at a specially constructed stadium.
According to Marek Lieberberg, the promoter for the Munich residency, 95% of the tickets have already been sold. The event will feature an impressive stage setup, including the largest concert screen ever, measuring 220 meters in length and 30 meters in height. Adele remarked, “The screen is enormous … it will make 80,000 people feel like it’s just me and one of them.”
The concert venue spans 400,000 square meters and will host a 13,000-seat “Adele World” food hall, complete with an English-style pub.
While Adele is excited for the Munich shows, she anticipates a different atmosphere compared to Las Vegas, noting that European fans tend to be “a bit quieter” and more polite, unlike their American counterparts who are often very loud.
Since its debut, “Weekends With Adele” has received widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics, with numerous clips going viral due to her heartfelt interactions with fans.
Adele is currently in Germany and recently attended the Euro 2024 championship, where she created a viral moment by urging the Dutch crowd to “shut up” just before England’s Harry Kane scored a penalty.
Her latest album, 30, released in November 2021, achieved significant commercial success, topping both UK and US charts and becoming the biggest-selling album in the US within just one day of its release. The lead single, “Easy on Me,” also reached No. 1 in both countries.
