Dreamscape Productions has unveiled the chilling trailer for “Round the Decay,” a forthcoming indie horror film by acclaimed filmmaker Adam Newman, known for “Everwinter Night.” Promising a blend of psychological and folk horror reminiscent of classics like “Pumpkinhead” and “Cube,” Newman aims to redefine the monster movie genre.
Set in the tranquil yet ominous Newport’s Valley, NH, the film follows Kenzie, played by Victoria Mirrer, as she confronts both personal and supernatural horrors in the wake of a shattered engagement. Co-starring Damian Maffei, Sienna Hubert-Ross, Melody Kay, Phil Duran, Sarah Nicklin, and Roger Clark, “Round the Decay” introduces a compelling narrative laced with mystery and dread.
Director Adam Newman describes the film as having “a lot of heart and character,” emphasizing its commitment to delivering genuine scares and visceral thrills. The highlight, however, remains the introduction of a new, enigmatic monster meticulously crafted by veteran special effects artist Greg McDougall, known for his work on “Stranger Things” and “War of the Worlds.”
“Round the Decay” is poised to captivate audiences with its suspenseful storyline and innovative creature design, promising a fresh and terrifying addition to the Halloween season. Scheduled for release in October 2024, the film invites viewers to delve into Newport’s Valley, where ancient secrets threaten to consume all who dare to uncover them.
