Thommy Schiavo, a prominent Brazilian actor recognized for his roles in television soap operas, tragically passed away at the age of 39 after falling from the balcony of his second-floor apartment in Cuiabá. The incident occurred during the early hours of Saturday, as confirmed by the Mato Grosso Civil Police.
Surveillance footage from the property captured the sequence of events leading to Schiavo’s fall. Initially seated, he later moved to lie on the balcony floor. After attempting to stand, Schiavo lost his balance and fell over the railing, plummeting approximately 13 feet to the ground. He was discovered lying face down and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Schiavo, survived by his spouse and child, was widely acclaimed for his performances in various soap operas broadcast by the Brazilian television network TV Globo. His notable roles included João Zoinho in the second season of “Pantanal,” which aired in 2021. Beyond acting, Schiavo contributed his equestrian expertise to the production, assisting fellow actors who required horse-riding skills for their roles.
His sudden death has deeply affected his family, colleagues, and fans. Schiavo’s father, Horácio Ramos, expressed profound grief, emphasizing his son’s warm personality and close bond with family members.
Schiavo’s career trajectory began after his graduation from a theater school in Rio de Janeiro in 2006. Over the years, he appeared in several TV Globo productions, including “Além de Tempo” and “Beleza Pura.”
“He was a beloved figure, cherished by all,” Ramos remarked. “His colleagues at Globo are devastated. Thommy had a way of winning people over with his simplicity and humility.”
The tragic loss of Thommy Schiavo has cast a shadow over Brazil’s entertainment industry, leaving many to remember him not only for his talent but also for his genuine kindness and dedication to his craft.
