The Americana Music Association has unveiled the lineup for the highly anticipated 23rd annual Americana Honors & Awards, set to take place at Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium on September 18.
This year’s event promises a stellar showcase of musical talent spanning genres and generations. Headlining performers include legendary acts such as Blind Boys of Alabama, Dwight Yoakam, and Shelby Lynne, alongside rising stars like Fantastic Negrito and Hurray for the Riff Raff. The lineup also features exciting collaborations such as Brandy Clark with SistaStrings and Waxahatchee with MJ Lenderman.
In addition to electrifying performances, the evening will honor esteemed musicians with Lifetime Achievement Awards. This year’s recipients include Blind Boys of Alabama, Dave Alvin, Don Was, Dwight Yoakam, Rev. Gary Davis (posthumously), and Shelby Lynne. Rev. Gary Davis will receive the Legacy Award in collaboration with the National Museum of African American Music, accompanied by a tribute performance from Fantastic Negrito.
The ceremony, renowned for its celebration of musical excellence and cultural contributions, will be recorded for broadcast on PBS as part of the Austin City Limits series in November.
Since its inception over two decades ago, the Americana Honors & Awards has been a cornerstone of AMERICANAFEST, a week-long event featuring performances and showcases across Nashville’s diverse musical venues from September 17-21.
