Sinead O’Connor’s Cause of Death Confirmed as COPD

by Barbara

On the anniversary of her tragic passing last year, the exact cause of legendary singer Sinead O’Connor’s death has been disclosed. Ms. O’Connor, aged 56, was found “unresponsive” at her apartment in southeast London.

Her husband John Reynolds formally registered her death on Wednesday in Lambeth, London. The death certificate identifies the cause of death as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma, exacerbated by a lower respiratory tract infection she was suffering from at the time.

A statement from Southwark Coroners Court earlier this year clarified that Ms. O’Connor died of natural causes, ceasing further coronial involvement. The Metropolitan Police, responding to the incident last July, confirmed her death was not considered suspicious.
